A Special Camp for Special Kids
August 28 - 30, 2026
Giving kids with disabilities the opportunity to broaden their horizons
The purpose of Camp Horizon is to allow kids with physical disabilities the opportunity to broaden their horizons by spending time with other kids in similar situations in the outdoor environment.
Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy & Nursing Student Counselors
Each camper is paired up with a student volunteer for the duration of the weekend. Our volunteers are Doctoral candidates within the Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy programs and nursing students at the University of Tennessee – Chattanooga.
Camp Horizon gives our student volunteers valuable hands-on experience in treating and handling the pediatric physical therapy patient population.
This relationship allows Camp Horizon to provide a safe and welcoming environment of learning and growth for both our campers and volunteers.
Campers Attend for Free
Our volunteers and campers attend camp for the weekend at no cost to them. We rely on generous donations from individuals and corporations to provide our services.
